WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.- International Roll Racing Association (IRRA) officials announce the addition of the new Ultra Class, which will be implemented at the second IRRA event at Palm Beach International Raceway, Jupiter, Fla., Saturday, August 25.
The Ultra Class was created to give racers who achieve speeds of over 170 mph to race against each other. The addition of this class ensures that all competitors will have tighter competition along with a level playing field.
“This class now exists because certain vehicles in the C1 class were remarkably faster than others. For example, Alex Rodriguez has his 2016 Nismo GTR, and he was trapped at 196 mph from the 40 mph roll,” IRRA President Chris Harris said. “The truth is, there are too many cars that cannot compete with cars of this magnitude and we felt like the addition of the Ultra Class was needed for competition.”
To participate in IRRA events and earn points during the four-race season and be crowned the first IRRA roll racing champion, a membership and competition license is required.
Simply, head over to the IRRA website www.RaceIRRA.com and purchase your membership and license to compete in the exciting inaugural season.
A competition license is $99 for the year. This license will provide the driver the ability to race at all IRRA events, $100,000 of excess medical coverage, and discounts from participating IRRA sponsors and IRRA apparel.
A general membership license is $69 for the year. This license will not allow participation in races but will grant holders $100,000 of excess medical coverage, and discounts from participating IRRA sponsors and IRRA apparel.
